COUNSELLING FOR PARENTS
We understand that being a parent can be one of the hardest jobs in the world at times – our counselling for parent’s service gives parents the time and space to feel emotionally supported when they need it most. From helping to work through emotional family challenges to tackling mental and emotional well-being impacting on family life. As a charity, we request a small donation per session according to income to help us keep our doors open to all.
Counselling for parents provides a safe space for you to talk about what’s on your mind and about any difficulties you may be facing – whether this is as a result of what your child is going through and the emotional impact on you as parent or if your own emotional well-being is in need of support to help you and your family stay on track. The Counsellor will help you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a friendly and non-judgemental way. Counselling can help you to build an internal ‘toolbox’ of awareness, understanding and strategies to support your future mental health and emotional well-being.
Our Parent Counselling service is primarily targeted at any parent aged 25 and above (as our youth counselling service provides free counselling to those aged 11-25). However for parents under 25 who wish to access open-ended counselling we are happy to accept referrals from parents of any age.
As a charity, we rely heavily upon donations and charitable giving to survive. We never want money to be a barrier to accessing support and therefore request a donation of between £10-£30 per session depending upon your household income.
Sessions take place each week at the same time and day with the same counsellor for as long as you need, initially starting with 6 sessions. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
