To continue to meet the needs of young people and parents within the local community we continuously monitor and review the needs of our clients and, thanks to the support of specific funders, aim to provide specialist counselling services where possible to meet the needs of particularly vulnerable clients or to fill a gap in service provision where this is needed. Details of our current specialist counselling projects can be found below.
We are working in collaboration with the county council’s ‘Supporting Troubled Families Project (STF)’ to improve direct access to free counselling for young people and their parents from families who meet the programme criteria. With dedicated Youth Counsellors and a Parent Counsellor (offering couples therapy and individual counselling), this service offers young people and/or their parents fast-tracked access to up to 12 sessions of free counselling.

From April 2017 we can provide direct access to up to 18 sessions of free therapeutic support for young people aged 11-19 who have been victims of any form of childhood sexual abuse, rape or exploitation. Our trained worker will support a range of well-being issues including difficulties relating to self-worth, confidence, and ability to form healthy relationships with family and peers.
