Youth Mentoring

MENTORING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

YPI Youth mentoring offer up to 8 sessions in total of free mentoring to 11-19 year olds, giving a confidential and safe space for young people to talk to a professional mentor about their worries, concerns and difficulties. We can support a wide range of areas such as self-esteem, school or family issues, social skills and friendship issues. Our aim is to equip young people with tools and strategies to increase their emotional health and improve their overall wellbeing.

What is Youth Mentoring?

Our Youth Mentoring service is designed to provide a professional friend and non-judgemental ear who can help you work through challenges you might face that are stopping you reaching your full potential. Each session will be based around your individual needs and will focus on areas of your life where you would like to make a positive change.

Mission

Our Youth Mentoring service aims to empower you to make positive life choices that will enable you to maximise your personal potential. By facilitating mentoring relationships, providing reflection, self-examination and offering a friendly ear from a professional friend the mentoring programme will help you to strengthen your confidence, find your voice and realise your own self-worth in order to achieve your personal goals.

Who is it for?

Our Youth Mentoring Service is for anyone who is 11-19 years old living in the Basingstoke area. If you are ready to make a change and set yourself personal targets in order to achieve personal goals, please see the ‘Accessing the service’ tab for a referral form.

We can help you, for example, if you are struggling with any of the following:

  • Difficulties with relationships
  • Self confidence
  • Bullying issues
  • Lacking motivation
  • Social skills
  • Disengagement
  • Isolation
  • Employability skills
  • Difficulties participating
  • School transitions
  • Feeling low
  • Feeling disengaged from the community
What’s the cost & how long does it last?

Our Youth Mentoring service is free and Youth mentoring will be only offering 8 sessions.
